Equal Opportunity For Women in the Workplace Agency (October 2001)

EOWAAgilent Australia has been named one of Australia's top 56 female-friendly companies in the "Employers of Choice for Women" Awards. Australia's Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency (EOWA) is a government body that administers the Equal Opportunity Workplace Act. The EOWA rated Agilent within the top 56 employers out of more than 2,800 Australian companies. To be an “Employer of Choice,” the organization must demonstrate policies in place that support women across the company. Agilent's practices include: attracting women to technology and engineering careers, having a harassment-free work environment and Agilent Australia's Parental Leave Policy. Additionally, Agilent was one of five finalists in the prestigious "Diversity Leader for the Advancement of Women" category

 

The Asian Wall Street Journal (September 2001)

Best Employers in AsiaAgilent Singapore and Malaysia have outperformed hundreds of other companies to be named to the inaugural list of "Best Employers in Asia" in a study conducted by Hewitt Associates and Dow Jones publications, The Asian Wall Street Journal and Far Eastern Economic Review.

In the Top 10 Country List, Agilent ranked No. 1 in Singapore and No. 4 in Malaysia. In the Top 20 Asian list, Agilent Singapore and Malaysia were first runner-up and 15th, respectively, leading a pack of seven high-tech companies.

 

Common Wealth Magazine & Aspire Academy (September 2001)

Aspire AcademyAgilent Taiwan ranked first in three of four categories in a just-published 2001 People Asset Index survey conducted by Common Wealth magazine and Aspire Academy. The Index seeks to evaluate how successfully industrial corporations implement their people-related business policies in four survey-defined categories. Agilent beat major companies by attaining first place in the ability to recruit and retain talent, in its efforts to stimulate job interest and dedication to work, and with its successes in enhancing employees' abilities. It ranked second in the category of encouraging employees' innovation and flexibility.

 

Cahners Electronic Group Publication (June 2001)

Cahners Electronic Group PublicationAgilent U.S. ranked #2 in the Cahners Electronic Group Publication's "20 Best Companies to Work For" in which Agilent's President and CEO, Ned Barnholt, is featured in the cover story, 2001 Movers & Shakers. The ranking and selection of the list was based on survey results conducted by the editor in the electronics industry and detailed responses on Agilent's people practices and programs that companies presented.

Among its many employee offerings, Agilent provides free family vacation lodging.. However, it was Agilent's Women's Conference and AfterSchool Hands on Science Program that helped the company climb to No. 2 on this year's list of "Best Companies to Work For."

 

San Jose Magazine (June 2001)

San Jose MagazineAgilent U.S. was selected as one of the "Best Places to Work in the Silicon Valley." The list was based on employee survey results conducted by the authors at San Jose Magazine and responses to a survey questionnaire that companies submitted. Agilent was cited for our free vacation retreats, $2,500 adoption assistance, one year personal leave, matched charitable donations, four hours a month paid volunteer time, employee referral bonus and the founder's grant.

The NewsJournalAgilent U.S. was selected as one of the "Best in the Business/Best Place to Work" companies in Delaware. "Agilent Technologies already had the name recognition nationally when it spun off from Hewlett-Packard in November 1999. After all, it was the largest initial stock sale by a Silicon Valley company and ninth-largest by a U.S. company during the 1990s. All it needed was that same recognition locally."

 

Electronique International Hebdo (February 2001)

Electronique InternationalAgilent France ranked 8th overall and 1st among test and measurement companies in a France survey about the best place to work in the country's high-tech sector. The survey was conducted for engineers and covered 65 high-tech companies across the spectrum. The survey was sponsored and published by "Electronique International Hebdo," a well-respected and widely-read engineering magazine.

 

The Sunday Times (February 2001)

The Sunday TimesAgilent UK has been named the 13th best place to work in the United Kingdom in a "Sunday Times" newspaper survey. The "Sunday Times" survey covered more than 200 companies from all sectors of British industry and invited over 1000 companies to participate in the first annual listing.

 

Fortune (January 2001)

Fortune 100Agilent U.S. joined the top ranks of America's elite employers when it ranked #46, top 50, on Fortune magazine's list of the 100 Best Companies to Work for in America, in their January 2001 edition. The list is commonly regarded as the premier ranking of U.S. employers. In 2001, when Fortune invited more than 1,000 companies to take part in the survey, Agilent participated for the first time -- making the list is especially remarkable.
